Ocean Yachtmaster qualifying passage
27th April marks the departure from Caernarfon of the RYA Recognised Training Centre yacht Shantih on the 640 nm non-stop voyage to A Coruna, North West Spain. On arrival in Spain departure from the yacht is an option if required. For more information visit:

Return to Caernarfon will be via the Scillies, Padstow, Dale and Fishguard. Subject to non-extreme weather conditions, estimated duration 10 days.
Two places remain available for suitably qualified keen sailors, Coastal Skippers or Offshore YachtMasters.
Skippering skills and mile building
If a crew of minimum 4 maximum 6 can be assembled later in June or July and subject to non-extreme weather conditions a period of approximately 2 weeks will be allocated to sailing to the Western Isles of Scotland. If conditions permit, an ascent of the In Pin (Inaccessible Pinnacle) on Skye is a possibility. Cruising one way may be considered. http://tv.thebmc.co.uk/videos/inaccessible/
Sailing to the Mediterranean
Circa July and subject to non-extreme weather conditions Shantih will embark on a coastal cruise to the Mediterranean. Sailing will be mostly by day and coast hopping is the intention, visiting harbours, marinas and anchorages enroute. Leaving the British Isles will be via Fishguard, Dale, Padstow and if conditions permit, the Scillies. Weather will determine the next direction, possibly Newlyn and some way up the Channel to Salcombe, crossing to the Channel Islands before making way down the Brittany coast to La Rochelle, San Sebastian, Bilbao, A Coruna and the Iberian Peninsula to Cabo de Sao Vicente and Gibraltar. Progress eastwards will continue with the aim of eventually reaching the Greek Islands for the winter. Families, friends and individuals, maximum 6, may embark and disembark as convenient to spend a week or two or more cruising. Numerous one way rail and flight options enable easy access to Shantih’s location during the voyage.
RYA qualifications may be attained during these cruises if desired.
